Diabetic Alert Dogs of America (D.A.D.A.) only need to locate 7 more dogs before they locate MY service dog! They are going out to several breeders this coming weekend to pick up possible dogs for others.
When it's my turn, they'll contact breeders and ask if any of their dogs is very low key, but wanting to learn and wanting to please.
If a breeder says yes, the trainer will go to that breeder, put the dog through the "will you be a good service dog" tests (you can find these by different people on YouTube).
IF the trainer feels that MY dog has been found, they will call me and let me know when the puppy was born (will be approx. 6 to 7 months old when they get him), who his parents are, why they feel he'll be a perfect match for me, etc. They'll send me a certain link so I can view photos and watch videos of the dog. If I agree that yes, that seems like Musketeer to me, they'll start training! If I say no, not quite, they'll keep looking.
D.A.D.A.'s dogs have a 90% success rate, BUT if at any time during training, they feel this dog isn't going to work out (if he totally is uncomfortable in public settings, for example), they'll say sorry, we have the wrong dog, we're going to look for your dog now.

I had an appointment with my "Diabetic Eye Doctor" this week. For the past two years, I've had a teeny tiny speck of diabetic damage to my eyes. Something that they were going to watch closely. This week, my eye doctor told me, "There is NO damage at all due to diabetes!". I hadn't realized that damage could correct itself. I was told in some cases, esp. if it is very minor damage, it can heal itself. HUZZAY!!!! My diabetic eye doctor heard I was working on getting a Diabetic Alert Service Dog and is SO THRILLED! He told me about a friend of his who got a Service Dog two years ago and that friend's life has drastically changed for the better! (His friend's dog cost $80,000 - makes Musketeer Puppy seem like a bargain at $15,000. There are so many different training companies out there and their rates and services vary greatly.)
If you would like to research Diabetic Alert Service Dogs, I encourage you to Google it (or how ever you do searches). If you'd like to verify Musketeer Puppy, I invite you to call Diabetic Alert Dogs of America. They'll be more than happy to explain what they do. Everyone in their office knows of "Musketeer Puppy" because I've been working on this for almost two years! :) They'll let you know how you can help bring Musketeer Puppy home if you ask. You can find their phone number on their web site HERE
We're getting closer to knowing who Musketeer Puppy is every week! I had been told that they might be finding MY Service Dog THIS MONTH! So... we are planning on having a MUSKETEER PUPPY REVEAL PARTY! The invitations have been started... we don't know the date YET... But watch for THIS in group notices and hand delivered!
